Brakar Campaigns

IDEA DEVELOPMENT, VISUAL CONCEPT, CAMPAIGN, ILLUSTRATION, PHOTOGRAPHY, GRAPHIC DESIGN, PRODUCTION

Brakar is a public transportation provider in Norway which operates Bus routes since 2009. The company has 4019 Bus stops and 143 Bus routes operating across Norway including: Drammen, Hole, Modum, Lier, Øvre Eiker, Ringerike, Sigdal, Ål, Kongsberg, Flesberg. I have worked with several campaigns producing material for print and digital media. These projects have given me the opportunity to work in several areas such as photography, illustration, some idea development and, of course, design.

Easter campaign 2022

Easter is a big holiday in Norway and one of the most common activities is Easter eggs painting. For this campaign, we represented a typical green Brakar bus with an egg box and all its passengers were hand-drawn egg characters: brown and white eggs for racial diversity. Most characters had two facial expressions that alternated to create motion.

The material produced consisted of a poster placed inside the bus, social media posts as well as web banners. It was very interesting and fun that I got the opportunity to work with several areas in this project: idea development, illustration, photography and design, with a great creative team at Los & Co Drammen.

Kongsberg Jazz campaign 2022

The purpose of this campaign was to inform that Brakar was offering transportation to Kongsberg´s Jazz festival. The material produced consisted of a poster for the bus, social media posts and web banners. My role was as illustrator and designer.

These are drafts of other illustration options that were not chosen for the final project.

Christmas and night bus campaign 2022

The Christmas and Night bus campaign for 2022 consisted mostly of hand-made elements made with colourful paper, cut and glued one by one in order to create a unique night time and day time winter landscape. And it doesn't stop there: the final result was a stop motion animation for each look. In practice, that means that hundreds of pictures were taken and each element was moved manually individually in each picture in order to create a motion video with static elements. The material produced consisted of posters, social media posts and web banners. My role was as illustrator, photographer and designer.

The third look of the campaign was the advent calendar for Christmas 2022.  Brakar had a collection of forgotten objects left on the bus and stored for many years without a sign of their owner. In order to give them away for a good cause, the company organised a series of 24 questions about Christmas and posted one each day on their Facebook feed. Every day, one person was selected from the comments section and won a surprise object. When it comes to the design, the questions and the number were edited digitally, but all the other elements were hand-made with colourful paper and photographed.
